Y type new IV catheter disposable with extension

Y-type catheter extension set has two ports. Normally one is for injection, another is with heparin cap.

IV catheter extension tubing plays an important role in infusion therapy. IV catheter with extension at first is normally used in China. Gradually more and more customers begin accepting this kind of new IV catheter for its safety and convenience in using. This IV catheter disposable is also CE certified.

The design of the indwelling needle has experienced from the initial open type to the closed type, from the common type to the needle puncture safety type . Open type catheter indwelling needle is the earliest form, as the name implies, at the end of the conduit seat is open, so in the end of the withdrawal of needle, it is easy to cause the blood leakage and so increases the risk of blood borne diseases and infection of medical staff. The risk still exists even if nurses wear gloves. And closed type indwelling needle is to avoid this shortcoming in design.It is an integrated design which contains the extension tube, catheter and closed infusion joints (such as heparin cap).

We now mainly have three types of Y type IV catheters.

Type 1:new design of Y type IV catheter  Specification: 18G, 20G, 22G, 24G, 26G Advantages: 1.The reflux of this new IV catheter is installed in the needle tube seat.     A separate reflux is not necessary. 2.An injection device is installed in the catheter seat of 2017 new     y-type catheter extension set, and the blood will not flow out after     the needle is pulled out. No other subsequent operations are required.

Type 2:Y type IV catheter with straight needle hub Size: 14G,16G,18G,20G,22G,24G,26G Features: Without injection port, without wings, exhausting via plugs, radio  opaque or transparent FEP(pur) catheter. With extension tube and  Y-connector.

Type 3:Y type IV catheter with extension tube Features: Y-connector, with extension tube, with screw cap, with or without heparin cap, radio opaque or  transparent FEP(pur) catheter. Size: 18G,20G,22G,24G,26G

Operation methods of Y-type new IV catheter disposal with extension  

In order to eliminate the influence of the technical factors, puncture shall be made by skilled nurses .

There are two kinds of operation methods.

Method 1:Tube delivery with two hands.

This is traditional puncture and tube delivery method. First connect IV catheter and scalp vein set, exhaust,disinfect the skin of puncture position,then loose needle core,hold needle handle with one hand, puncture skin, insert needle further a bit along the direction of vein after seeing backflow of blood,fix needle core,deliver the whole outer tube into vein with another hand, loose tourniquet and regulator, withdraw needle core. Finally, fix IV catheter with transparent dressing film and adjust the dripping speed.

Method 2:Tube delivery with one hand

First, loose outer tube. Operator shall fix puncture site and tighten skin with left hand, place the thumb of right hand on the back of needle seat. Press the index finger above the tube needle, hold IV catheter disposable steadily with middle finger and ringer finger which are at the front of needle wings. Puncture blood vessel at angle of 15-30 degree, when there is blood back flow, reduce angle by 5-10 degree, mover forward 1-2mm along blood vessel direction. At this moment, index finger, middle finger and ring finger shall not be moved. Move thumb to the crotch of the left side of outer tube ,deliver tube forward slowly till whole tube is delivered into blood vessel. The remaining procedure is the same as method 1 , traditional tube delivery method. Throughout the whole operation, the left hand shall be always fixing puncture site and tight skin.
