1. About pearl Rings material
Our good quality pearl bracelets use S925 sterling silver, 14K 18K gold/platinum ring shanks.

2. About ring shank and pearl sizes
The conventionl hand-inch(ring sizes) of our pearl rings are 8-24 hand-inches, the diameter ranges are 14.62-20.46mm,
the perimeter ranges are 45.94-64.27mm.
Pearl sizes vary from 5mm to 15mm, seawater pearl rings have big pearls.
Conventionally we divide rings' pearl sizes as 9-10mm, 11-12mm, 12-13mm etc.
Sometimes we also divide pearls as 9.5-10mm, 11-11.5mm, 13-13.5mm and so on.
It can make the pearls difference smaller, thus the pearls matching is better. |
3. About pearl shapes
Pearls are generally divided into round, nearly round, rice shape, oblate, oval and baroque pearls according to their appearance.
Round pearls are usually more expensive than nearly round, rice shape and oblate pearls if the quality are the same.
Baroque pearls are also expensive due to their unickness and uncommon features. |
4. About pearl nature and attribute
Pearls are mainly divided into freshwater pearls and seawater pearls.
Freshwater pearls are generally cultivated in freshwater lakes and rivers. The mother pearl shellfish is freshwater mussel.
Seawater pearls conclude China Akoya pearls, Japan Akoya pearls, Tahiti pearls and Southsea pearls.
China seawater pearls are mainly cultivated in Beibu Guff, Guangxi province. It's near with Japan Akoya pearls but cheaper.
Akoya pearls are mainly white, they are comparing smaller than Southsea pearls, most of them are 4-6mm, 8-10mm
Akoya pearl is very big. Akoyawhite pearls have strongger lustre than freshwater white pearls.
Tahiti pearls are mainly black, they are cultivated in tropical sea area in Frence Polynesia. The common size is 9-11mm, 16-18mm
Tahiti black pearls are very cherish. The mother shell is black lip oyster. Some Tahiti pearls are peacock green and dark gray.
Southsea pearls are the most expensive. They are formed in golden lip oyster in Australia sea area.
Most Southsea pearls are golden, while some are white. |
5. About pearls grades and quality
We habitually call pearls such as AAA or AAAA pearls to distinguish the quality. What do these A mean?
(1) The first A means the shape of the pearls.
A means perfect round, A1 means round, A2 means nearly round, B means oblate, C means oval or rice shape, E means baroque.
For example, 9-10mm A1ABA pearl necklace means this necklace is made of 9-10mm round pearls.
(2) The second A means the lustre of the pearls.
A means very strong lustre, A+ means extremely strong specular reflection lustre, B means middle strong luctre.
(3) The third A means the surface smoothness of the pearls.
A means flawless, A1 means tiny flaws, B means slight flaws, C means many flaws.
(4) The fouth A means the matching rate of different pearls in size and shape.
A means different pearls match perfectly. B means some pearls are not the same big or in same shape.
C means mixed shapes or sizes pearls. Single pearl ornament such as some pearl rings and pearl pendants don't have matching rate.
Only 2 pearls or more than 2 pearls pearl jewels have matched-degree. |
6. About pearl prices
Pearl jewery prices vary largely according to their nature, shapes, sizes, grades and materials.
(1) Seawater pearls are naturally more expensive than freshwater pearls if other details are the same.
(2) Round pearls are mainly more expensive than oblate and rice pearls.
(3) If the pearls are big, it's harder to cultivated and processed, thus bigger pearls are surely more expensive.
(4) The lustre, surface smoothness and matching rate also influence the prices much. Because better pearls are rarer.
(5) The metal or diamond material also decide the prices.
Copper alloy,alloy plated silver, S925 sterling silver, 14K gold and 18K gold/platinum are common metal materials for pearl jewels.
