There are two methods of producing cross linked polyethylene foam, cross linking by irradiation and chemical foaming agent. Fire proof XPE foam is produced by the second method.
DCP(cross linking agent) is mixed up with polymer so that the sheet is cross linked and foamed at the same time. This process need to be cautious in order to balance the decomposition of DCP and AC(foaming agent) because the heat of mixture increases.
Other additives includes: stabilizing agent, activating agent, color master and flame retardant.
Fire proof XPE foam meets different fire standard in different countries and areas. There are also some “Internationally recognized” standards which are accepted for certain fields.
