Cap nuts, also called acorn nuts, are blind tapped hex nuts with acorn-shaped tops. They provide sealing for projecting thread parts.
Cap nuts feature a crown, or dome, covering. They are chosen for safety reasons, to cover protruding threaded mating parts and for decorative enhancement.
