Silymarin is extracted from medicinal plants of compositae in milk thistle seed coat,apppearance is yellow or crystalline powder, taste bitter. dissolve in acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol and methanol, it is difficult to dissolve in chloroform, insoluble in water.
