420 Stainless Steel Strip

420 stainless steel strip is a grade of stainless steel produced according to American ASTM standard. The corresponding Chinese grade of 420 has higher hardness compared to quenched 2Cr13. It can be made as cutting tool, nozzle, valve seat, valve, etc.

 

Introduction

420 stainless steel strip can be generally divided into two kinds of materials 420J1, 420J2.

420 stainless steel contains 0.13 chromium, 0.03 carbon.

Heat Treatment Range

1) annealing, slow cooling at 800~900?, or rapid cooling at about 750?;

2) quenching, oil cooling at 920~980?;

3) tempering, quick cooling at 600~750?.

 

Metallographic structure: the microstructure is martensite.
